Type 052 Luhu Class Destroyer are equipped with the eight cell HongQi 7 (HQ-7) surface-to-air missile (SAM) along with 16 reloads. It also carry four quad pack box launchers of YJ-83 (C-803) anti-ship missiles.

Type 052 Luhu Class Destroyer carry Type H/PJ33A dual 100 mm/56 caliber main gun which can be used against both surface and aircraft targets.

The Type 052 has been outfitted with two Chinese Type 730 ( H/PJ12) 7 barrel 30 mm Gatling gun close-in weapon system (CIWS) which can fire at rate of 5800 rd/m.
