Chinese Type 041 Yuan Class SSK is a new generation of the People's Liberation Army Navy.

The Type 041 submarine uses the tail design of the Type 039 Song class SSK which have 4 diving planes.

Chinese Type 041 Yuan Class Submarine has six 533 mm torpedo tubes which can be used to launch torpedoes YJ-83 (C-803) anti-ship missiles.
YJ-83 (C-803) anti-ship missiles is equipped with 165 kg high-explosive warhead and it has a range of 180~250 km at a cruising speed of Mach 0.9.

China should give a Song Class submarine to the Thai Navy. This would forge a closs relation between the Chinese and Thai. navies and would likly lead to Thailand buying more subs from China in the future.

I agree that China should gift a Song Class sub to Thailand for many reasons. As said above , it would create close relations betwwen the Thai and Chinese navies. It could create a future customer for Chinese submarines . If in the future China was at odds with Thailand they could cut sending spare parts to the submarine to make it difficult to operate thus giving China some degree of control. Based on that last sentence. If I were South Korea I would seriously consider giving Thailand a Type 209 submarine to counter all of the above statements.

Interesting thoughts. Here is another take. Thailand will eventually buy submarines. Russia could 'Loan' the Thai Navy a Kilo Class Submarine in order to get their foot in the door of the Thai military market.

iffr ofacebiJapan also should consider giving a 'Training Submarine' to Thailand in order to help the balnce of power situation in Asia and lessen the influence of the Chinese military.
