The People's Liberation Army Navy plans to induct around six Type 094 Jin Class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines. Two Type 094 SSBNs has already joined the PLA Navy while third is scheduled to be commissioned later this year.
Jin Class submarines carry long range JL-2 submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) which can be armed with multiple nuclear warheads.
