The 15th Chinese Naval Escort Taskforce in Indian Ocean

The 15th naval escort taskforce of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) conduct traning in the Indian Ocean before moving to the Gulf of Aden and the waters off the Somali coast to take over the escort mission from the 14th Chinese naval escort taskforce.

The 15th naval escort taskforce consists of s composed of the Type 054A Hengshui 572 Guided Missile Frigate, the Jinggangshan dock landing ship and the comprehensive supply ship Taihu.

Type 071 (Yuzhao-class) Jinggangshan  amphibious Landing Platform Dock has displacement of 19,000 tons, is 210 meters long and 28 meters wide. It can carry multiple attack and transport helicopters, armored fighting vehicles, boats and landing craft as well hundereds of troops.
