Taiwan has for the first time deployed “Hsiungfeng” (Brave Wind) 2E cruise missiles capable of striking key military bases along the southeast coast of the Chinese mainland .

Taiwanese Hsiungfeng (Brave Wind) 2E cruise missiles have a range of 500 kilometres (300 miles). The project  to develop Hsiungfeng (Brave Wind) 2E cruise missiles  was codenamed “Chichun” (Lance Hawk), had cost the military around Tw$30 billion ($1.02 billion). 

Taiwanese experts estimate that China’s military, the People’s Liberation Army, has more than 1,600 missiles aimed at the island.

In order to save vital jet fighters to defend the country. To be able to strike back against China in the event of an attack. Taiwan needs to double the range of these missiles and then deploy a thousand of them. Use jet fighters only to defend against incoming enemy jets.
