The J-20 Mighty Dragon, underdevelopment fifth generation stealth fighter jet of the Peoples Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) is undergoing testing and these are image from the first week of February 2012.

J20 is more like a long range heavy bomber,due to its body to weight ratio.

j-20 Is much more stealth then the Russian T-50 which has long way to come if it is every going to compete with the J-20.

ReplyDeleteLooking at J-20's DSI inlets and canards can bring us to idea that J-20 is more likely strike fighter optimized for long supercruise at 1,5M. While T-50 is more likely air superiority fighter - fast and agile.
They can be a deadly couple if working together.

DSI is optimized for the supersonic speedz but it doesn't effect the subsonic profile.
ReplyDeletecanards has been employed by the eurofighter, Rafale and JAs-39 beside J-10.
All of these perform well in air to air role
or taking about J-20 a trike aircraft only is nothing but a day dreaming by few fool who were claimng last year that PLAAF wont have any stealth jet program before 2020
J-20 has nothing in common with the F-22 other then tat both are stealth jets

T-50 looks to be a crude effort at creating a stealth design which will need lots and lots of refining if it is ever to compete against the F-22 and J-20
Ws-10G and Russian AL-31s are being used at this point in time while Ws-15 will be used for operational J-20
ReplyDeleteJ-20 can be a good ground attack aircraft, but not good for air strike role. Also still no internal weapon bay...engine change..i don't think it'll be ready before 2020.

If YOU were a Korean or Japanese Pilot on your way to bomb a Chinse military target. And you expected to be intercepted by Chinese J20 Stealth Fighters. Would you rather be in an F 15 or an F 35 stealth attack jet?
