Sino KJ-500 Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS)

Newly posted images on the Chinese language forums show the KJ-500 Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) which employs 3-sided fixed active electronically scanned array (AESA) radars on the top of a modified Y-8F-600 Category III Platform with JL-4 6-blade propellers. This arrangement offers continuous 360º radar coverage. These images were taken last year as it can be seen from time stamp on these images.
