J-15 Flying Shark naval fighter jet With buddy refuelling pod

The J-15 Flying Shark naval fighter jet of the of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy) spotted with a strange pod ( buddy refuelling pod?) on the centerline hard point. 

Although additional imagery will be required to confirm  but could it be buddy refuelling pod to refuel the other J-15 fighter jets to increase their endurance and range when flying from the Chinese Liaoning CV 16 Aircraft Carrier.
