Type 052C (Luyang-II class) air defence destroyers carry 48 indigenous HHQ-9 surface to air missiles in eight 6-cell vertical launch systems (VLS).
Type 052C class destroyers are equipped with the four-array multifunction phased array radar (PAR) similar to the US Navy's Arleigh Burke class destroyers which are equipped with Aegis AN/SPY-1 radar.
Type 052C destroyer are equipped with the 280 km range YJ-62 (C-602) anti-ship missiles.
Type 052C (Luyang-II Class) Missile Destroyer are also equipped with two seven barrel Type 730 close-in weapon systems (CIWS) which has a firing rate of 4,600~5,800 rounds/minute at a maximum firing range of 3,000m.
