Fist Chinese Built Type 001A Aircraft Carrier Launched

China has launched its first domestically built aircraft carrier Tpe 001A CV17 today from its dockyard in the northern port city of Dalian. This will be second aircraft carrier to join PLA Navy.

China's first domestically built Type 001A CV17 aircraft carrier getting ready for launch in Dalian shipyard.  As part of preparation for launching China's first domestically built aircraft carrier dock was filled with water earlier this week.Once operational with People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), it will join China's sole aircraft carrier CV-16 Liaoning which is a rebuilt Ex-varag purchased from Ukraine. Chinese Type 001A CV17 aircraft carrier will carry J-15 flying shark fighter jets, Z-18F anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopters, Z-18J airborne early warning helicopters and Z-9C rescue helicopters.
