China Replaces AL-31FN with WS-10A Turbofan Engines in J-10B Fighter Jet

China has started using indigenously developed WS-10A Taihang turbofan engines instead of Russian Saturn AL-31FN turbofan engines on its newly developed version of the J-10 Vigorous Dragon fighter jet (J-10B prototype1035). The People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) is already using the WS-10A turbo Fan engines on its J-11B Flanker.

Chinese Proof of Concept For Littoral Combat Ship

This is a small scale proof of concept design for the future Chinese high-speed trimaran Littoral Combat Ship. The proof of concept ship is uses a simplified version of the design used on the United States Navy's Independence class is a class of littoral combat ships.

Chinese Liaoning CV16 (Ex-Varyag) Aircraft Carrier Sets Sail for 2nd Sea Trial

Upgraded Ex-Varyag aircraft carrier which was purchased from the Ukrainian shipyard unfinished state US$20 million in March 2002. It reached at the Chinese Dalian Shipyard where it was refurbished with new equipment and weapon systems. Unconfirmed reports suggest that it was renamed  Liaoning CV16.

Aerial complement of the Chinese Liaoning CV16 (Ex-Varyag) aircraft carrier will consist of Ka-31 AEW & Z-8 AEW helicopter and Shenyang J-15 Flying Shark which is a Chinese development of their J-11B fighter jet. The J-15 Flying Shark uses has folding wings, shortened tail to maximise the number of aircraft which can be carried by the aircraft carrier.
Chinese Liaoning CV16 (Ex-Varyag) Aircraft Carrier's was fitted with the 4 Active Electronically Scanned Array(AESA) radar panels similar to those installed on the Chinese Type-052C Luyang-II class destroyers.
Chinese Liaoning CV16 (Ex-Varyag) Aircraft Carrier has been outfitted with the Type 1030 CIWS, and the FL-3000N missile system for self-defence purposes.

Member of the Special Police Unit of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force (CAPF) using QBZ-95 Sniper Rifles during the Training mission. The QBZ-95 Sniper Rifle is outfitted with a heavier longer barrel and a redesigned muzzle brakeand it fires a heavier 5.8x42mm round.

The members of the Special Police Unit of the People's Armed Police Force (CAPF) are taking part in the Anti-Terrorism Training. The purpose of the urban warfare training is to provide rapid response in case of a terrorist attack.

Chinese People's Armed Police Force (CAPF) has conducted a mock hijack rescue operation in the South Chinese  province 'Guangdong'.  Member of the Special Police Unit of the CAPF took part in the hijacking hostage rescue exercise simulating a terrorist attack.
 The Operator of the Special Police Unit were given a challenging task to rescue the hostage and apprehend their captors.

HongQi 7 (FM-90)Surface-to-Air Missile System

The HongQi 7 (HQ-7) has been developed by China Academy of Defence Technology in the late 1980s and its improved variant HQ-7/FM-90 was introduced in 1998. Latest version of the HQ-7B/FM-90 uses indigenously developed 6 x 6 light armoured personnel carrier chassis.

Bolivian K-8 Karakorum Jet Trainer

The Bolivian Air Force (Fuerza Aérea Boliviana) has purchased 6 K-8 Karakorum fighter jet trainer at cost of US$58 million from China. The Bolivian Air Force also plans to employ the K-8 Karakorum in light attack role.  The K-8 Karakorum fighter jet trainer was jointly developed by the Nanchang Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation. Z-8 ASW/SAR/AEW helicopter lands on Chinese Shi Lang (Ex-Varyag) Aircraft Carrier. The Z-8 helicopter ws  developed by Changhe Aircraft Industrial Corporation (CHAIC). The Z-8 helicopter has a maximum take off weight of 13tonnes and max cruise speed of 248km/hr.
